Kathy Smith
William Moritz
Kathy Smith is one of Australia's top animators. She studied at the Sydney College of the Arts and the Studio Art Centers International
in Florence, Italy. Her early Super-8 films, A Figure in Front of a Painting and Ayer, were shown in exhibitions in Europe and the U.S., and are in the collection of the Australian National Gallery. Her later film Change of Place was nominated for an Australian Film Institute Award, and Living on the Comet was awarded a Bronze Award at MOMA's Expo of Short Film & Video. In 1996, Smith lived and worked in Los Angeles as a resident of the Santa Monica Studio LA.
