Technophile, recorded live music throughout his travels with new tape recorder, avid music fan, rented classical records from Wilson's. Gourmet cook, particularly French cuisine. Married Marie N. in Berkeley, c. 1937; Hirsh had a daughter, Diane, from previous marriage.
